Sixto Elizondo IV is the Orchestra Director at Reagan H.S. in San Antonio, Texas, and is in his 15th year of teaching. Under his direction the Reagan Orchestras has tripled in size and has consistently won Sweepstakes awards at UIL. The Reagan Orchestra performs six major concerts a year, including a young people’s concert that serves 1700 elementary and middle school students in the Reagan Cluster.  Members of the orchestra also serve the greater Stone Oak community by performing at events, nursing homes and in Reagan cluster schools. In March of 2014 the Reagan Orchestra performed in Carnegie Hall as a part of the Mid America Productions Ensemble Spotlight Series.

Mr. Elizondo is a graduate of Baylor University where he earned his BME. While there, he was a member of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra and also actively pursued vocal studies.

Professional affiliations include TODA, TMEA, and TMAA. He is concurrently serving a term as Vice President for Mu Omicron, an Honorary Fraternity for Texas Orchestra Directors. As a member of TMEA he has served as Region 12 Orchestra Division Chair, organized three All State ensembles, annually chairs student registration at convention, participated in a Summer Dialogue and annually hosts the Region 12 Orchestra Clinic and concert. He has had the privilege of adjudicating orchestras around the state and has been a guest clinician in several regions.

Mr. Elizondo has been a member of the Corpus Christi Symphony for 19 years and performs frequently as a freelance violinist and vocalist in the San Antonio area. He is a proud husband and father of two children Eos and Sixto V. He is an avid cook and enjoys preparing food for family and friends.
